Inflation: a food aid plan for the most precarious is taking shape

A virtuous system rather than yet another check. According to information from RTL, to help the poorest households cope with inflation, the government is preparing to change its strategy. This time, no "food voucher", but a whole system of transformation, based both on the fight against food waste.

The government's idea would be to collect unsaleable ("ugly", in poor condition, soon to expire) fruits and vegetables directly from farmers or supermarkets. Then head to processing workshops to make preserves, jams and prepared meals for the most precarious families. Food that will then be distributed by food banks and social action centers to families who need it most.

To carry out this project, the State would have released 60 million euros to create these processing workshops and create supply networks, still according to RTL.
