The tanker with a british flag was seized by Iran's Revolutionary Guard more than two months ago, the "Stena Empire", has been freed, according to iranian officials.

"The legal process has been completed, and on the basis that the conditions have been met to allow the oil to be released and the oil can move," he said Monday, Ali Rabiei , spokesperson of the government of Iran, according to the official news agency IRNA.

The iranian ambassador in the Uk, Hamid Baeidinejad , has confirmed that the oil is "free to go", in a message on his personal Twitter account: "The oil tanker flag-british Stena Empire, in accordance with the completion of the judicial process and legal, now you are free to go".

The owners Swedish "Stena Empire" have still not confirmed that the boat has been released from the port city of Bandar Abbas , but since the Sunday spoke of the imminent release of the vessel.
