JERSEY CITY - A window was smashed in an apparent burglary on Bergen Avenue, police said.

The 61-year-old victim called police early Tuesday morning because he couldn't get inside his apartment between Highland Avenue and Vroom Street, according to a police report.

The man said he noticed his back window smashed and it appeared someone latched the inside lock of his door.

When police broke open the door, items were scattered around the apartment, police said. The resident told police that it appeared nothing was stolen from the apartment. No arrests were made, police said.
