Manley Nolen, broker associate with Martha Turner Sotheby's International Realty, co-sponsored a back-to-school party in the Chancel neighborhood in Spring on Saturday, Aug. 16. "The Chancel Neighborhood Back-to-College Bash" was held from 1-5 p.m. at Chancel Community Park. Shannon Roach from Transerve Management and Sue Gold, senior mortgage originator with Cherry Creek Mortgage Co., co-sponsored the event.
Organizers invited neighborhood residents to bring lawn chairs, meet their neighbors and contribute a can of food for the Houston Meals Bank. Firemen from Klein Station 37 parked their fire truck in the park and soaked the children with a 1,000-foot spray of water. Attractions integrated a blow-up water slide, face painting, and a snow-cone truck.
Nolen and his Realtor assistant, Sandra Wyckoff, set up a stand and handed out Frisbees, secure child ID kits, cowbells, and Properties magazines. MTSIR neighborhood outreach specialist Terri Lemons helped out.
"In the last various years, I have been involved in sales and neighborhood activities in this neighborhood and have gotten to know several of the residents very well," Nolen said, who functions from the MTSIR office in The Woodlands. "I constantly take pleasure in events like this, specially when the kids have so significantly fun and it all added benefits a worthy lead to like the Houston Food Bank."
"Manley is so well liked right here," Lemons mentioned. "This was the second time I've been to an event like this right here with him."
