The Texas police are investigating a firefight this Sunday in a church near San Antonio that has caused the deaths of many people, according to the first local information. The assailant was shot dead at the hands of the officers who responded to the incident. As reported by the county commissioner to NBC, the estimated number is 24 deaths in addition to numerous casualties. The reasons for the attack are unknown.
According to a witness reported to CNN, a man entered the temple, the First Baptist Church in the town of Sutherland Springs, around noon, during the mass celebration. He heard at least 20 shots. The FBI is already in the area of the incident to assist in the investigation.
The scene of the events also included emergency services, including helicopters to transfer injured people to different hospitals in the area.
The shooting takes place only a month after the worst shooting in U.S. history in Nevada, which resulted in the death of 60 people and more than 500 injured. During a Country music concert, a 64-year-old white man shot gusts at thousands of attendees in a downtown Las Vegas Esplanade.
