Chinese boy band star crashed in $3.5M NYC apartment

February 23, 2017
We hear that Roy Wang, China’s 16-year-old singing sensation, stayed at a two-bedroom apartment at Manhattan View at MiMA, located at 460 W. 42nd St., while he was in town. Wang is one-third of boy band TFBOYS (aka The Fighting Boys), which also includes fellow teens Jackson Yi and Karry Wang.

The 55th-floor pad, which is on the market for $3.52 million looks out to wide city views.

Wang has 20 million followers on Weibo, China’s ubiquitous Twitter-like platform, and was in town with his assistant/guardian to speak at a UN youth forum last month.

We also hear that a different apartment at Manhattan View at MiMA will host “An Evening of Art and Design” reception on March 1.

The event at the Jamie Drake-designed model unit is hosted by Rebecca Wilson, chief curator and VP of art advisory at Saatchi Art, and will feature recent works by emerging NYC-based artists — who are also slated to attend — including Thomas Hammer, Laurent Elie Badessi and Lisa Grunwald.
