The topic of health has come into focus in recent years. But which providers from the healthcare sector are most popular with customers? For the first time, the most popular companies were honored with the German Health Award.

The German Institute for Service Quality and ntv are honoring the most popular companies with the “German Health Award” for the first time as part of the “Big Bang Health” industry event. The award ceremony will take place today in the Colosseum Theater in Essen.

Companies and providers were evaluated from 44 categories that represent the multifaceted industry – such as eye laser clinics, medical supply stores, nursing services, pharmacy cooperations or areas such as digital health, health equipment and products, preventive care and check-ups, medical advice and support, mental health and coaching, rehabilitation and care and nutrition

Markus Hamer, Managing Director of the German Institute for Service Quality, explains the background: “It is long overdue to honor the topic of health with an award and to honor the top providers. In this way, we are also ensuring more transparency for the consumers.”

The basis for the award is the customer vote in a large survey with over 30,000 votes. As part of the population-representative survey via an online panel, customer satisfaction with providers from the healthcare industry was examined in the areas of price-performance ratio, range of products and customer service.

Numerous individual aspects were taken into account, such as the quality and benefits of the products or services, the variety of offers, reliability, contact options on site, by telephone, chat, e-mail and via social media channels as well as reactions to customer inquiries with regard to advisory competence and friendliness. In addition, the willingness of customers to recommend the company was included in the overall result.

A total of 405 companies were evaluated; 332 providers, each with at least 80 customer votes, made it into the individual evaluation.
