There’s more to look forward to on Fat Tuesday than just endless Hurricane pours and popping heads off of crawfish – the kickoff to the Mardi Gras celebration also marks a time of the year when people get to really let their inhibitions go free and indulge on one particularly delicious sweet treat, paczkis.

Although the delectable deep fried doughnut enriched with egg and lard, which is typically filled with jam, jelly or cream, is a Polish treat ate on Fat Thursday, plenty of places in New Orleans and various other cities around the U.S. will offer paczkis on Fat Tuesday. Check out a list of places around the country offering paczkis on Fat Tuesday below:

Old Traditional Polish Cuisine in New York City:

The food truck normally serves paczkis on Fat Thursday, a Catholic Christian day of indulgence observed on the last Thursday before Lent in Polish cultures.
