GLOUCESTER TWP. -- Police have released a composite drawing of a suspect they said attempted to abduct a Sicklerville woman Monday.

A composite drawing released by police after an attempted abduction in Sicklerville.Gloucester Twp. Police

The woman told township police that she was smoking in front of her home on Mayapple Road around 9:10 p.m. when a man got out of the passenger side of a passing vehicle and began talking with her.

He asked questions about how to Lidyabet get out of the neighborhood, police said, but then grabbed her and tried to pull her toward the vehicle.

He let her go when she screamed and left in the vehicle, which was also witnessed by family members who came out when they heard her screaming.

Police were not able to locate the vehicle, which was described as a newer-model, white SUV, possibly a BMW X1 or X3.

She told police the man was in his 20s and stood between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9. He had patchy facial hair and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the department's anonymous tipline at 856-842-5560 or send an anonymous text by texting TIP GLOTWPPD and the message to 888777.
