Pairing a franchise running back with young franchise quarterback such as Carson Wentz is one way to jump-start the Eagles offense in 2017.
That is exactly what Howie Roseman Betpark and the Eagles personnel department are projected to do, according to Lance Zierlein of NFL.com who has the Eagles choosing Florida State running back Dalvin Cook with the No. 14 overall pick in April's NFL Draft in his latest mock draft released on Thursday:
14. Eagles: Dalvin Cook - RB, Florida State: One of the best ways to take pressure off of a young quarterback is to find a strong running back who can shoulder the load. Cook is that guy.

Cook set career highs in his final collegiate season, rushing for 1,765 yards and 19 touchdowns on 288 carries.
If the Eagles wind up choosing Cook, it would follow in the footsteps of the Dallas Cowboys investing the No. 4 overall pick in Ezekiel Elliott in the 2016 NFL Draft. Elliott won the Rookie of The Year Award and the Cowboys finished 13-3.
Dropping Cook into the Eagles' backfield would not only provide a game-changing weapon for Wentz, but also take significant pressure off the quarterback heading into his second season. The Eagles were 3-0 to start the 2016 season thanks in part to a balanced attack, passing the ball only six more times than they ran it during that stretch.
