A witness reported that the youth was driving without his mother's knowledge. He was discovered by a patrol on a federal highway near Bad Dürrheim. Despite repeated requests from the police to stop, the 14-year-old accelerated.
In Villingen he drove past the patrol car on the opposite lane. Several vehicles had to brake hard. He then drove on at almost 180 kilometers per hour. In Villingen, there was almost an accident with an oncoming car.
The rest of his journey led him back to the main road, partly across meadows and cycle paths. There he bypassed a construction site barrier and got onto the Autobahn 864 in the direction of Stuttgart.
From there he turned onto a connecting road, where his journey ended at an unbridgeable excavation. The 14-year-old was finally arrested by the police after a short pursuit on foot.
The police called it a happy coincidence that no one was injured in the chase. The list of allegations against the 14-year-old is now long. Officials are also looking for people who were disabled or endangered by his journey.
