A neighbor of Vigo, José Dr, has been tried on Tuesday in the Quinta section of the Provincial Court of Pontevedra (based in the olivic city) as supposed author of a crime of sexual abuse on his granddaughter and, although the processing has denied The facts before the court, the reports of forensic psychologists and their testimonies have granted credibility to the girl, who was 12 years old at the time of the facts.
The defendant has insured in the trial that he did not play together to his granddaughter, as he sustains the prosecution, and has attributed the complaint to possible "jealousy" of his granddaughter with respect to another cousin.
As explained, that afternoon (the October 28, 2018) was sitting in the living room of his house after eating and his granddaughter sat on his knees for a while, until he left to nap to his room . During that moment, he has assured, the only contact he kept with the least was caressing him a leg, but he denied that he had introduced his hand inside the girl's clothes, who had touched the genitals or that he had commented on Its virginity.
In addition, he explained, at all times there were more people in the living room (the sister of the victim and the great-grandmother of the girls) and his own woman was next door, in the kitchen. "I do not know why all this was mounted, they are my granddaughters and I love them with madness (...) if my wife had seen something like that she would have given me a sopapo," she proclaimed her.
In the trial of this Tuesday they have also provided a statement (behind closed doors) both the victim and his sister, as well as the grandmother and wife of the defendant. This witness said she did not notice anything strange in her husband's behavior or her grandchildren, and that she spent several times for the room, where everyone was, without perceiving anything out of the ordinary.
He also pointed out that they found out what happened when, the next day, another of his children (godfather of the victim) went to see them and told them that he had been with the girl and that she had reported the alleged abuse. "I did not understand it at that moment, I do not understand it now. In fact, we told him to take her to a doctor to be explored," the woman said, ratifying her husband's statement, while she has insisted on what "Never, never" the defendant had had problems of this kind with minors, even though he raised several minor family members and worked with girls.
On the other hand, the mother of the victim has explained before the court that her daughters had a normal relationship with her grandparents and who passed whole weekends with them. Specifically, the day of the facts, on a Sunday, the minors had slept at the home of their grandparents and, in the afternoon, the victim wrote several messages to his mother urging her to look for them as soon as possible because "something had happened ".
"When I arrived, I saw my daughter's face, his expression of horror, was very scared and as soon as he saw me rushed to hug me," he said this witness, who has emphasized that the girl "is very mature and very sure of herself ".
As explained before the judges, the minor reported the abuses and, after talking to his godfather and take her to the hospital (where the police and judicial protocol for these cases was activated), submitted complaint in police station.
Credible testimony

The Prosecutor's Office calls for the defendant a 10-year penalty of prison, for a crime of sexual abuse of less than 12 years with the aggravating precavement by kinship. He also claims that he is forbidden to approach or communicate with his granddaughter for another 10 years, and the measure of freedom guarded for a decade after leaving prison; as well as a compensation of 30,000 euros for the child.
