Amazon will open its first physical clothing store this year in California. Baptized as Amazon Style, will have all kinds of brands, like department store, and offer a different shopping experience, with the possibility of paying biometricly or asking for new garments without having to leave the tester.
The American AT Brand shopping center in Los Angeles will be the place chosen for this new store, which will be ready in the coming months.
Like other physical stores that Amazon has opened in recent years, such as bookstores or supermarkets, Amazon Style's strategy will take advantage of the information that the company already has of web users to have an inventory more adjusted to tastes of the buyers. On the shelves there will be "hundreds of brands" clothes, many of which are available for purchase through the web.
The shopping experience will be something different from that of a conventional store. The shelves will have QR codes to scan with the phone and get a list with the different options of colors and sizes. This will allow you to take better advantage of the space in the premises, by not having to put several sizes from the same garment. According to Amazon, these stores will be able to offer double inventory than other comparable in size thanks to this system.
The client may send from the phone the garment chosen in the size you need a tester and the testers will also have a touch screen to request more items or different color options without having to leave it. Amazon will also suggest also complementary garments based on the tastes and trends of the market.
The stores will also serve as a distribution center for those who prefer to buy on the Internet. Customers can ask for Amazon to send their clothes to a nearby Amazon Style store to try it before buying.
The payment can be made from the app on your phone or through Amazon One, which allows us to pay for registered users by simply passing the palm by a biometric reader. This system is also used in some of the Amazon Go and Amazon Fresh stores that the company has opened in several US cities.
