The US Brand of Ice Cream Ben & Jerry's will stop marketing its products in the occupied Palestinian territories. "We believe that it is inconsistent with our values that Ben & Jerry's ice cream is sold in the busy Palestinian territory," the famous brand revealed in a statement.

This also announced it in its Instagram.

The company has been under the pressure of Pro Palestinian groups for its businesses in Israel and Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that Ben and Jerry's were making a "morally wrong" decision.

However, Ben & Jerry's will market its ice cream in Israel but under a different agreement, without sales in the Palestinian territories. "We also welcome the fact that Ben & Jerry's will stay in Israel," explained the multinational Unilever to which the brand belongs.

Currently, Ben & Jerry's operates a manufacturing plant and two Scoop stores in Israel, which describes on its website as places located "outside the occupied territories, south of Tel Aviv."

The Israeli movement of boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) held the measure as "a decisive step in putting an end to the Company's complicity in the occupation of Israel and the violations of Palestinian rights."

"Ben & Jerry's, a socially responsible leader company is finally aligned its policy on Israel's oppression regime against Palestinians with their progressive positions on Black Lives Matter and other struggles for justice," announced.

Ben & Jerry's was acquired by Unilever in 2000 in a single agreement that allows him to operate more autonomy than other subsidiaries.

It has a great commitment to social justice and has recently shown strong support to the Black Lives Matter movement, LGBTQ + rights and the financing reform of electoral campaigns.
