End the truce between employers and government for labor reform. The opening of talks around the update of the interprofessional minimum wage (SMI) has meant a front and unanimous rejection of entrepreneurs to the proposal of the Vice President Yolanda Díaz to raise at 1,000 euros the basic remuneration of employees in 2022.

CEOO has summoned this noon Extraordinary Committee to analyze the proposal made yesterday by the Government and the resolution has been fulminating. Entrepreneurs will not come to more meetings with work to discuss a measure they consider inopportune. They have rejected it unanimously, so that they leave Diaz the free way to agree with the unions but without the possibility of celebrating a new tripartite agreement in social dialogue.

Thus, unlike previous occasions, consultations for SMI have barely lasted 24 hours. Entrepreneurs have lived almost month and a half of internal tensions on account of labor reform that are now closed. Last December 25, entrepreneurs submitted a new labor regulatory framework negotiated with government and unions in order to comply with the commitment agreed with Brussels to reform labor legislation in exchange for new European fund remittances.

The vote was overwhelmingly majority in favor of the agreement negotiated by the team of Antonio Garamendi, although there was no unanimity since significant organizations such as Madrid, Catalan or agrarian organizations refrained from supporting the Agreement. The employer of SMEs, Cepyme, explained after his vote in favor was an "act of responsibility" on a text with which they disagree.

Already this morning the president of the Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA), Lorenzo Amor, has pointed out that the Rise of the SMI posed by the Government for 2022 is "an approach that greatly damages the" economic situation, in a context in which Contagicia continues for the pandemic and remains the increase in the price of energy. For love, that rise would mean "more than 600 euros a year", a figure resulting from the rise plus the contributions to social security per worker and year, depending on the calculations of it.

"The SMI is not in large companies or at medium-sized companies, is where they have not recovered," said ATA president. In this sense, he has launched a review of Diaz as he wondered if it is time to "give that turn of nut" that can "put the carrier" to certain collectives, for wanting to "promote personal projects using the official state newsletter (BOE) ".

Díaz, which last week was about to suffer the biggest political bump since the government came from a rejection in Congress to labor reform, it must now agree on the new SMI with unions. CCOO has already underlined the importance of reaching 1,000 euros for the growing scope between employees.

According to the studies service of the organization directed by UNADO, the rise in the minimum interprofessional salary at 1,000 euros per month monthly in 14 pays will benefit around 1,809,000 salaried people, of which 1,518,000 work full-time and 290,000 work part time. The effect will be especially remarkable in agriculture, with 40% of employees. The next higher incidence would be observed in the services sector with 11.5% of the total salaried employees in this sector, which concentrates 78% of the beneficiaries.
