NASA has received more than 9.6 million of names from all over the world that will be included in a chip that is placed on the rover of the Mars 2020. The campaign 'Send your name to Mars' lets you get a boarding pass, custom of memory, and ends the 30 of September.
The rover is scheduled to be launched in July 2020 , and it is expected that the ship lands on Mars in February 2021 .
The vehicle, which weighs more than 1,000 kilograms, look for signs of microbial life past , will characterize the climate and geology of the planet, collect samples for a future return to the Earth and will pave the way for human exploration of the Red Planet.
"As we prepare to launch this historic mission to Mars, we want you all to share this journey of exploration," he said in a press release Thomas Zurbuchen , associate administrator of the Directorate of Scientific Missions (SMD) of NASA in Washington.
