Exterior Protesta Anta Rabat by the installation of a fish farm in waters of Spanish sovereignty

Spain, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has submitted a verbal note of protest to the Moroccan government for the installation, without the timely permits, of a fish farm in waters of Spanish sovereignty, specifically next to the coast of the Chafarian Islands.

The fishing facility has been authorized only by Rabat, who has never recognized the sovereignty of Spain or on the archipelago or over its surrounding waters. The incident, denounced in Congress and in the Senate by several parliamentary forces - and commitments - occurs fairly at a time when Moroccan Hispanic relations go through a tension situation fueled by the Ghali case - the hospitalization of the leader of the Front Polisario in Spain without knowledge of Rabat- and the subsequent call to consultations by the Ambassador of Morocco, Karima Benyaich, still not reinstated to his position at the head of the diplomatic legation in Madrid.

A month ago, the deputy of Vox Alberto Asarta was interested in this matter and received a written response from the Government, which was confirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food had not received any request from Morocco in relation to the installation of A fish farm in swimming pools. Likewise, the Senator of Compromos Carles Mullet addressed the question only a few days ago claiming the executive for a response to Morocco. According to Mulet, the ships of the Spanish Navy that patrol the waters of Spanish sovereignty had long detected the installation work of the fish farming.

The Foreign Ministry, as the world has confirmed, has also begun to process sanctions against the Tarraconense company that has sent and installed the material of the Moroccan fish farm located in an area of special bird protection that is part of the Natura 2000 network .
