Facebook has said to its employees who conserve all internal documents and communications since 2016 for legal reasons, since governments and regulators have begun to investigate their operation.
This request arrives after the former employee of the company Fances Haugen (who has denounced it) will filter documents that, according to her, showed that Facebook prioritizes its benefits on the safety of its users.
At the beginning of October, the President of the American Trade Committee, Maria Cantwell, asked the Executive Director of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, who retained all the documents related to Haugen's testimony. That is why, he announced a spokesman for the company, "on Tuesday, Facebook sent a legal notice to all his staff" asking for all these documents.
According to the Publica 'The New York Times', in the email that Facebook sent to its workers, the company ensures that, after the documents submitted by Haugen and "as often occurred after this type of reports, a series of consultations have been initiated by Governments and legislative bodies on the operations of the company ".
