Renfe's machinist strike has already crossed his equator without visits to find a short-term solution, because yesterday, fourth day of unemployment, the breaches that some workers from the minimum services caused a collapse in the network of Cercanías de Madrid to the point that the company recommended to travelers who opted by alternative routes.
Fear is that, if the tension continues to increase, it can affect mobility at the Pilar Bridge, because for Thursday and Friday (departure) and Monday and Tuesday there are more unemployment. Those on Friday, Monday and Tuesday, are also 24 hours.
In principle these days there have been no problems with the birds and long distance trains, since the minimum services "have been fulfilled 100%," explains sources from Renfe, who trust that there are no problems, despite the chaos generated yesterday, The same day in which the convening union, SEMAF, announced an approach in dialogue with the company.
Of course, Renfe has had to return a total of 69,451 AVE, long distance and a half distance tickets, during these first four days of the strike. For half distance trains, an average of 65% of the usual services had been established, and in high-speed and long distance, 72%.
Since the beginning of the strike, the tension has been increasing. The company accuses the machinists not to go to their post and neglect minimum services. On the other hand, the union first said that workers had not received the corresponding notifications, and now insist that employees responsible for executing these services are compliant.
More than 1,700 trains that had to circulate as minimum services have been suspended by these absences, says Renfe.
Last week the problems were in Catalonia and Valencia, and to a lesser extent in Madrid. Yesterday he touched the community. Travelers who were in the Sun vicinity station even had to be evicted before noon by not being able to operate trains for non-compliance with minimum services. Emoreas and union have apologized to users affected by the conflict.
According to RENFE, the machinists who had to cover the minimum services are not being presented at their posts, which makes their trains do not come out of the head and, therefore, do not let the next, thus causing congestion in the tunnels. Some trains had to be in the middle of the road. Renfe even recommended users to use alternative means of transport, except on line C-5 (Móstoles the Soto-Atocha-Fuenlabrada-Humanes).
It was the fourth strike day of the eight totals. Yesterday Semaf, which represents 85% of these workers, pointed out that "a dialogue path has been opened, which we hope that it will be fruiting and management to convene the strike committee," the organ established to resolve the situation. SEMAF insisted that machinists forced to comply with minimum services have been presented to their posts.
Last week, chaos scenes were experienced and 400 trains were suspended on Thursday and as many on Friday for these breaches. They alleged that they had not been informed, something that the company denies. In fact, this weekend RENFE has sent more than 9,000 notifications through certified and Burofax cards to ensure that workers received notices. Some of those who violated services last week have already been disputed due to serious fault.
Its reinvidication is not salary or ask for an improvement in its working conditions. They denounce that trains have been suppressed with the Covid excuse that have not yet been recovered and that there is employment that has not been covered. They also claim the integration in the provision of services by RENFE, to avoid their possible transfer to the Generalitat.
In addition to the unemployment, there are partial summoned for Thursday (from 12:00 to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.), another 24 hours for Friday, coinciding with the operation of the Pilar Bridge . Monday and Tuesday, the 24-hour stoprs follow.
