France accuses Australia and the United States of lying and talks about serious crisis that will influence NATO

The French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, accused the United States and Australia of "lying" and working on his back to an ally like France in his military treatise that supposes the suspension of a French submarine sales agreement.

In statements to public television France 2, Le Drian said that there is "a serious rupture of trust" with its "ancient allies" Americans and Australians and that this attitude will have influence on the evaluation of the future strategy of NATO.

"Things do not go well between us, and that's why we have called the Ambassadors to show our former partners that there is a strong discontent (...) and to reevaluate our position to defend our interests in Australia and the United States," he added .

The Minister did not save criticism of Washington's attitude and Camberra, assured that they were notified only one hour before the official announcement and considered "brutal" the solemn announcement made by the president of the United States, Joe Biden, and the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison

Le Drian noted that Biden has behaved as his predecessor, Donald Trump, "but without twits".

As for the decision not to call the Ambassador in London to consultations, the Minister said that it is not necessary because "the permanent opportunism of the British is known, which in his opinion are nothing more than" comparsas "in this agreement.

Le Drian doubted that the agreement has to do with the Chinese threat, because US submarines will not be delivered to Australia before 2040, ten years later of the French.

He considered Washington held a confrontation strategy with China who does not share France and before the lack of European support to the French position assured: "This is not yet over."

Although he denied that France is considering leaving NATO, he said that this matter will weigh in the new strategy of the Alliance that will be established at the next summit in Madrid.
