Ghali returns to refugee camps five months after his controversial entry by Covid in Spain

The leader of the Polisario Front and President of the Arab Republic Saharawi Democratic (RASD), Brahim Ghali, returned today to the refugee camps installed in the Algerian desert region of Tinduf, more than five months after it was urgently evacuated from Algiers to Spain because of a serious infection of the COVID-19.

Ghali landed at the Tinduf Airport Last Noon and was received by the Prime Minister and Member of the National Secretariat, Bushraya Hamoudi Bayon, accompanied by several of the Ministers of the RAS, entity created in 1976 and recognized by dozens of countries.

In addition, he reviewed the troops together with the coordinator of the Popular Saharawi Liberation Army (EPLS), Mohamed Ibrahim, before resuming administrative work in his office.

Diplomatic Sources Saharawis pointed to EFE that is also planned to travel to the town of Bir Lehlu, located in the so-called "liberated areas", more than five hours by car on sand tracks, very close to the security wall raised by Morocco in the areas occupied by the old Spanish colony of Western Sahara.

On Friday night, and prior to his return to the camps, Ghali resumed his activity with a meeting in Algiers with Omar Belani the special envoy for the conflict in the Algerian president Sahara, Abdelmedjid Tebboune.

The Saharawi leader was moved at the end of April from Bir Lehlu to Algiez a strong CoraniVirus infection, and from there to a hospital in Logroño, transfer the latter that unleashed a virulent diplomatic conflict between Spain and Morocco, who complained about the form in which he entered Spanish territory and that he was not informed.

On June 2, and after declaring Spanish justice for a pending complaint about crimes against humanity, the leader of the Polisario returned to Algeria, where he was received by TEBBOUNE himself and by the Head of the Algerian army, General Said Chengriha, the Strong man of the country, who visited him at the military clinic in which he continued with his recovery process.

Ghali returns at a crucial moment of conflict, scarce days after Morocco announced that he accepted Mistura's Swedish Staffan diplomat, as a candidate for the UN space delivery post for Western Sahara, since he was vacant near OD years.

The Polisario had already accepted in April to the experienced diplomat - which was specially sent from the UN to Lebanon in the nineties and Syria during the current war.
