Spain continues to leave behind the fifth wave of the coronavirus. The cumulative incidence (IA) has fallen five more points, up to 78.88 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and, in addition, healing has notified 2,450 new infections in the last 24 hours (almost 1,000 less than those that were reported seven days ago).
Likewise, an important decline has been recorded in mortality: On the last day, 82 new deaths have been reported, 36 less than yesterday and 73 less than last Tuesday. Thus, Spain already reaches the 85,983 official deceased by Coronavirus.
The positive evolution of the rhythm of contagion is closely related to the accelerated decrease in cases among young people. The only group that has not yet begun to vaccinate, the under 11 years, are first incidence (119,10), although its indicator has dropped 24 points in the last week. The second most affected group is already that of over 80 years (84,23), and the rest of the population (including young people between 12 and 29, protagonists of the Fifth Wave), are below those figures.
By autonomies, the most affected are Melilla (188.34 of IA), Ceuta (172.20), Cantabria (109.28) and Balearic Islands (109.00). On the other hand, Asturias maintains the most positive incidence data in the country (21,89), although they have not updated them on the last day, followed by Valencian Community (55.64), Galicia (57,22) and Castilla y León (59,38).
Likewise, the pressure in hospitals decreases. This Tuesday are entered by Coronavirus in National Territory 3,450 people, 218 less than Monday. The percentage of global occupation, then, then, to 2.87%. In the intensive care units (UCI) the trend is similar: in them the occupation descends up to 10.21%, with 48 serious illnesses less than yesterday (a total of 931).
Communities with the most saturated UCIs are still Madrid (19.34%), Catalonia (16.41%), Basque Country (14.29%) and Balearic Islands (13.98%). On the opposite side, the most relaxed are Melilla, without Covid patients in a serious state, Galicia (2.67%), Murcia (3.17%) and Asturias (3.69%). But we must always remember that these figures only correspond to the occupation of beds by patients Covid. To calculate the total occupation, those patients who are entered by other pathologies and surgeries must be addressed.
In Europe, the United Kingdom (670.4), Turkey (425,9) and Switzerland (398.7) are countries with the highest. The best countries are Poland (20.1), Czech Republic (53.8), Ukraine (78.3), Spain (78.88) and Italy (105,6).
