Investigate an Italian gynecologist who offered unprotected sex to patients as therapy against human papillomavirus virus

A gynecologist from the Italian city of Bari (South) that proposed sex to its patients as therapy today presented its low at the College of Physicians as a result of a case uncovered by a television program that ended in the hands of the Italian prosecutor's Office.

"I have decided to resign from the College of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists from Bari Province and I have formally requested my cancellation," the Gynecologist, Giovanni Miniello announced, through his lawyer in a statement published by the local media.

His case was released last week by the research television program "Le Iiene" and, after making public the testimony of a woman, he received the allegations of "tens" of other presumed victims of the doctor, who will be able to see himself in the broadcast of this evening.

The 68-year-old gynecologist, who worked at a private clinic of Bari, proposed unprotected sex with him as therapy against the papilloma virus, claiming he was immunized.

Hidden camera videos of the program allowed the opening of an investigation by the Prosecutor's Office.

In its statement on Tuesday, collected by the Ansa agency, the doctor ensures that it only proposed "an alternative treatment that has given results" and that never used violence.
