Renfe adds today, Thursday, October 7, the fifth day of strike of his machinists, on the eve of the Pilar Bridge. The four previous days were lived situations of chaos, delays and agglomerations for non-compliance with minimum services by part of the machinists who had to be executed, according to Renfe denouncement.
Last Tuesday these incidents caused a collapse in the nearby Madrid network for hours to the point that the company recommended to travelers who opted alternative routes.
The president of Renfe, Isaiah Tábas, has admitted this morning in a television interview that in some "punctual episode" the breach of minimum services may be caused by "some other causes" although he warned that in cases where he is demonstrated That has been a worker's willingness is going to be sanctioned because it is a very serious infringement.
The fear is that, if the tension continues to increase in today's day and tomorrow, the strike can affect mobility on the Pilar Bridge. On Friday this week and on Monday and Tuesday that it comes, coinciding with the national festive, there are 24-hour stoppages.
The bird and mid-distance network at the moment has not been affected by strikes, since minimum services are being met. Of course, Renfe has had to return a total of 69,451 tickets of these trains during these four first days of the strike.
For half distance trains, an average of 65% of the usual services had been established, and in high-speed and long distance, 72%. The semaf union, which calls for the strike and representing 85% of the machinists, assured on Tuesday that at least there has been an approach with the company to try to resolve the conflict.
More than 1,700 trains that had to circulate as minimum services have been suspended these four days before the absences of workers who had to cover these services, denouncement Renfe. Semaf denies it.Updated Date: 08 October 2021, 12:53
