Spain: A step from low risk, but with 57 deaths more

Another day of good news. The cumulative incidence (IA) of the Coronavirus continues descending, although little by little. This Wednesday is already situated in 50.96 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, after a drop in a point and a half in the last 24 hours. This means that Spain is one step, specifically 69 tenths, from low risk. It also decreases slightly (four tenths) the seven-day indicator, key to detect rapid changes in trend (21.35). According to this last figure, since it is less than 25, Spain would already be considered as a country with low risk in terms of Covid-19.

The number of contagions has also decreased on the last day: they are 2,303 new, more than 400 less than those that were reported a week ago. On the other hand, mortality today does descend, since healing has notified 57 new deaths on Wednesday, 37 less than yesterday, but 18 more than a week ago. Thus, according to the ministry, 86,678 deaths have already occurred in Spain since the pandemic began.

By communities, the most affected territories are Melilla, with an AI of 103.36; Cantabria (82), Catalonia (80.92) and Aragon (75,15). On the contrary, the most relieved are Asturias again (15,12), Galicia (19.76), Castilla y León (33.11) and Andalusia (37,96).

By ages, the most affected group is, by far, the less than 11 years, unique without vaccining. However, your IA (87,32) has also dropped more than four points on the last day. The following population groups in incidence are between 30 and 39 years (54.76) and between 40 and 49 years (52.88).

From hospitals today come good news, but only half. The global occupation falls to 1.83%, with 274 admitted less than the previous day; But in UCI the percentage increases a bit, placing itself at 6.67% (611 patients covid, seven more than on Tuesday). With these data, something similar happens that with the incidence 7 and 14 days, since according to the global occupation of beds in hospitals, being less than two, Spain would already be a country in the so-called new normality, but if it is observed The occupation in UCI, being even greater than 5, would indicate that Spain is still a country with low risk.

On the other hand, the positivity meter of the tests carried out (2.23%), also aimed at Spain has already entered the new normality, since it is less than four. Communities with greater pressure by Coronavirus in the ICU remain Madrid (13.22%), Catalonia (9.3%), Basque Country (9.07%) and Balearic Islands (8.21%). On the opposite side, the most unknown are Ceuta and Melilla, without admitted to UCI, Galicia (1.2%), Murcia (2.01%) and Asturias (2.1%).

As always, we remember that these data only reflect the occupation of beds for Covid patients. To calculate the actual occupation, those patients who are entered by other pathologies and surgeries would be added. The European countries most affected by the virus are the United Kingdom, with an incidence of 708.7; Romania (610.4) and Turkey (478.2). The countries with the lowest data are Poland (36.5), Spain (50,69) and Italy (73,3).
