Stop in France an alleged member of the command that murdered the Saudi journalist Khashoggi

An alleged member of the command involved in the assassination of Jamal Khashoggi Saudi journalist in Istanbul was arrested on Tuesday at a Paris airport, said judicial and airport sources.

The Border Police of the Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle Airport stopped Khalid Alotabi, 33, when he was preparing a flight to Riad, a source next to the case.

The man is in detention waiting to appear on Wednesday before the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Appeal of Paris, which will communicate the international detention mandate requested by Turkey, a judicial source said.

The arrest occurs three days after the French president, Emmanuel Macron, would narrow the hand of the Saudi Arabian Hered Prince, Mohamed Bin Salman, during a criticized meeting in Yedá.

The international image of the heir was stained by the assassination of the journalist, once close to power, who worked in the newspaper The Washington Post and who was dismembered in the consulate of his country in Turkey by a Saudi agent command. His body never appeared.

During his tour of the Gulf countries, the French Head of State advocated speaking with Saudi Arabia to "work for the stability of the region", although it specified, in allusion to the crime, that he did not mean that they were "complacent".

After having denied the murder, Riad ended up recognizing that Saudi agents, who acted alone, perpetrated. At the end of a unclear process in Saudi Arabia, five people were sentenced to death, before their sentences were switched, and three to prison.
