The Government, through the CSD (Superior Sports Council) has convened an emergency meeting for the afternoon of this Thursday (at 6:00 pm at its headquarters) in order to try to put peace in the last football war, which He confronts Laliga presided over by Javier Thebas with three of his affiliates, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic de Bilbao, on account of football financing after the ravages caused by the pandemic, substantiated this financing in the project 'Laliga Impulso'. To the meeting, all the parties are invited (Laliga and the three clubs) and also the Spanish Federation, which is against Laliga's posture.
As is known, the three clubs are the only ones who have not signed 'Laliga Impulso', an agreement between Laliga and the CVC Investment Fund through which CVC injects 2,100 million euros in the Spanish clubs. That in exchange for an annual percentage of the outcome of the exploitation of television rights of the competition for 50 years.
Faced with this, and after several weeks of silence, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Athletic de Bilbao presented last week an alternative project called 'Sustainable Project', with a different funding model with which, they say, the clubs would save the payment of 12,200 million compared to the Agreement of the employers with the British investor.
