The Teatre Institut leads to the Prosecutor's Office for Signs of Sexual Harassment

Slow but unstoppable, the case exploded last February at the Teatre institut of Barcelona by the allegations of abuse of power and sexual harassment follows its course: The Institut has made available to the Provincial Prosecutor's Office of Barcelona the disciplinary file that opened One of his teachers after identifying "signs of sexual harassment in his behavior," according to a statement from the institution made public this Thursday. He does so with the intention that the prosecution "can carry out the proceedings and investigations that it deems appropriate" and determines if there is criminal responsibility in the teacher.

The teacher was dispatching and separated from the classroom as a precautionary measure from the month of March, shortly after the scandal exploded. The name of him is Boris Dausà, one of the 13 teachers that the students of the Institut had placed at the point of sight for months. According to the newspaper Ara, Dausà took classes in "a mountain house", something forbidden by the Institut's own regulation, "encouraging students to have sex between them and participating in sexual carait games with some students." He had also sent images with sexual content to a students and would have tried to maintain "sex with some boys and girls, which generated a lot of discomfort" among the students, according to the Catalan newspaper.

The internal research process of Dausà was opened as a result of an instance presented by a student. After departing from the teaching, the Commission on Prevention and Research of Sexual Harassment linked to the Institut Anti-Seal Protocol developed a report on the case in the month of May. The professor opened a disciplinary file. Then the case passed to the Diputación de Barcelona, where the Teatre Institut depends, and "Since the indications have been confirmed," has proceeded to become aware of the Fiscal Ministry.

In addition, the Institute opened two other disciplinary files on which he has reported in the statement: one by "inappropriate conducts in the classroom" and another by "a serious lack of invasive teaching practice". In the first case, the Institut has "suspended" the file to the retirement of the teacher before "the impossibility" of applying the disciplinary regime to someone who is no longer part of the staff, but is "assessing" the possibility of undertaking actions by the judicial, according to the statement.

In the second case, that of serious fault due to invasive teaching, has been suspended from work and salary to a teacher for two months and six days. It has not yet been executed, waiting for themselves.

Last February, a score of students and former students of the Teatre institut of Barcelona denounced decades of sexual harassment, abuse of power and psychological abuse within the Dean School of actors that depends on the Diputación de Barcelona and headed Magda Puyo since 2015. At the moment the case has caused the resignation of Puyo and the cessation of Joan Ollé.
