The great success of the squid game has made its protagonists become stars internationally, but many of them were already known in Korea for some of their previous works. Heo Sung-tae, the one in charge of incarnating Jang Deok-Soo, the player number 101, has a curious title in his curriculum. The actor debuted in the world of cinema incarnating Goku in a Dragon Ball movie when he was a child.

The interpreter was at the head of Dragon Ball Zero, a Korean and unofficial adaptation of the popular Saga de Manga and anime created by Akira Toriyama. The tape, premiered in the year 1990, shows Goku in his search for the Seven Magic Balls. The feature film covers the events related to the Emperor Pilaf. More than 30 years later, Sung-tae got into the skin of Villain Jang Deok-soo in the squid game. The character of him is a mobster who is forced to compete in the tests of the Netflix drama to try to get rid of the debts of him with the mafia and with a casino of the Philippines.

Throughout the series he stars several confrontations with Kang Sae-Byeok (Hoyeon Jung), the player number 67. She makes him fall to the ground during the red light challenge, green light in the first chapter.

Heo Sung-tae did not continue acting in his childhood after his role in Dragon Ball Zero. He studied at the National University of Pusan and specialized in Russian. He then sold televisions and also worked for a shipbuilding company. However, in 2011 he decided to turn a turn to him and re-try his luck in the world of interpretation.

At 43 years and in just a decade, the interpreter has gone through a multitude of series and films. On television he has participated in fictions such as Tunnel, Witch's Court, Cross, Watcher, Psychopath Diary and beyond evil. Some of the projects on the big screen are the Empire of Shadows, The Outlaws and the Suspicious Number 12.

His next project is the Sea Series of Tranquility, whose premiere in Netflix is scheduled for the month of December. This fiction presents the history of a scientist who joins a spatial mission whose objective is to recover a mysterious samples from a lunar station. In this place an accident that ended with multiple lives occurred, including that of the sister of the protagonist.
