The pianist dies and composer Barcelona Jordi Sabatés at 73 years

The Pianist and composer Barcelona Jordi Sabatés, who collaborated on records and projects with Tete Montoliu, Toti Soler, Pau Riba and Santi Arisa, has died at 73 years.

In a message on Twitter, the Conselleria de Cultura de la Generalitat has regretted the death of this "legend of Catalan music", and has expressed their condolences to family and friends.

"We stayed with his valuable legacy of more than 50 years of career, influential creator for various generations and great figure of jazz and the author's song," the department has remarked.

The Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, also on Twitter, has assured: "The world of music is mourning. That the earth is mild."

Born in Barcelona on October 23, 1948, Sabatés recorded an album in 1972 with the OM Group and shortly afterwards created the Jarka group with which he recorded two more works.

He published 'The Lord of the Rings', 'Birds from Beyond' and 'All Enyor tomorrow', as well as other albums in collaboration with Toti Soler, Tete Montoliu and Santi Arisa, and in 1979 he formed an organ 'Big Band' and edited 'portraits'. In 1980 Grabó 'Solitudes' dedicated to Frederic Mompou.
