This will be the new school year: Maximum Pressentity and Reduction of the Distance between Pupitres

The new school year is finalized after the meeting on Wednesday between the Minister of Education, Pilar Joy, and the Autonomous Communities. The main key is that it is committed to the "maximum pressureity" of students in "all stages" educational after last year's experience, when older students had to combine attendance at centers with telematic classes.

On the other hand, the "Successful" Vaccination campaign against the COVID-19 will allow "flexibilize" the distance between 1,5 meter students to 1.2 meters in favorable sanitary conditions. That does not exempt from continuing to use the mask in a mandatory manner since six years.

The Extraordinary Sectoral Conference of Education convened to finalize the new course has confirmed without changes of relevance the protocol expected last June. In addition, the positive impact that for this course has the vaccination strategy has been highlighted.

The current figure is that 61.7% of students from 12 to 17 years already have a dose and that something more than 16% already has the complete schedule of the vaccine, as detailed by the minister on Wednesday at a press conference . "That will allow you to guarantee the personation with higher safety levels," he has celebrated joy, which has detailed that "almost 100%" of teachers is vaccinated.

The Minister of Education, which has stood out that the meeting with the regional counselors has been "fruitful" and in a "friendly" and "very constructive" tone, has delegated decisions about spinning issues in health authorities.

For example, if at some point the masks could not be mandatory in the courtyards, as it will happen. Or also if the so-called traffic lights have to be modified with which the alert levels are established (essential to governing measurements).

The Community of Madrid and Galicia claim to introduce the variable of vaccination to be able to become flexible the protocol, as they defend that the indices of students with the two doses must influence in some way. As for vaccination, the Ministry of Education does not contemplate that the centers can ask parents if the children are vaccinated.

These are the main keys of the new school year.

The protocol is committed to the "maximum pressureity" of the students of all levels, after a complicated year for the older ones, who had to alternate assistance to the center with telematics education.

In the event that the situation worsens, "at the level of alert 3 and 4, in the exceptional case that the measures could not be met, it could be passed to semipretion only from 3º of ESO". In this case, priority would be given to go to the center to students with "social or academic difficulties".

What makes clear the protocol is that in 1st and 2nd of that is "essential" maintaining the pressure, since children under 14 have less independence and are not yet completely autonomous.

Regarding the semipretion, the way of avoiding it is requested because it has a "negative" impact not only in the academic results but also in the "emotional well-being" of adolescents. There is a concrete mention to students of 2nd baccalaureate who, in addition, suffer the "stress" of having to prepare the EBAU, the ancient selectivity.

In ESO and the baccalaureate, as well as when there is no possibility of having a bubble group in the last elementary courses, the students have to be separated within a class for a distance of 1.5 meters, "being flexible at 1.2 meters In the low transmission scenario to guarantee the pressure ". This reduction of the distance between despitres, contemplated since May, will facilitate the organization of the groups and the return to the usual ratios in secondary school and baccalaureate

After its success in the past course, the so-called "stable coexistence groups" are maintained with the same guidelines. Children do not have to keep the distance strictly and can socialize and play with each other with a certain normality despite the mandatory use of the mask from six years.

In the second stage of children (from three to six years), the bubble groups will be formed by a maximum of 20 students, while in primary (from six to 12 years) they will have a maximum of 25 students.

In ESO and Bachillerate there are no coexistence groups, but a security distance of 1.5 meters between the students "with the possibility of flexible up to 1.2 meters" is established.

The Protocol emphasizes that these stable coexistence groups guarantee "sealing in all activities that are carried out within the educational center, avoiding interaction with other groups, limiting the number of contacts."

The use of the mask will continue to be mandatory from the six years regardless of the interpersonal distance or belonging to a bubble group. Only in the outdoor activities, when a distance of 1.5 meters can be maintained, "can be assessed" dispense with it. In the yard it will be necessary to take it.

The mask will also be mandatory in collective school transport from six years and its use is recommended for children from three to five years.

Pilar Alegría has valued that the mask has been "successful" last year and has warned that despite vaccination "prudence" should be the "main counselor". "If the situation is improving, they will be the sanitary authorities that pose different measures."

The relevance of ventilation is emphasized and it is proposed that the natural, opening doors and windows, is the "preferred" option. Moreover, it is said that "if possible" is made "permanent form" to favor air circulation and ensure effective sweep.

Hygiene is considered an important point. That is why it will be disinfected in the centers at least once a day, although in spaces of intensive use, such as bathrooms, it should be done at least two or three times daily. In the case of the classroom, it is enough to clean once.

Measures such as the staggered entry and exit of the educational center and the minimization of the displacements of groups of students through the center are maintained. Communication with families will also be prioritized through telephone, email, messages or ordinary mail, and "telematic efforts will be provided".
