Five people suspected of being involved in a network of trafficking of antiquities from unstable areas in the Near and Middle East and sold on the art market in France have been placed in custody on Monday and Tuesday in Paris, has learned the AFP to several sources.

Among the people arrested include the director of the auction house, one of its experts and a former curator of the Louvre. A preliminary investigation had been opened in July 2018 and assigned to the central Office for the fight against traffic in cultural goods (OCBC) and the central Office for the repression of the large financial delinquency (OCRGDF).
