The president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, received the Russian nasal vaccine against the Coronavirus as part of the trials carried out by the Gamaleya Center, creator of the Sputnik V drug, as reported on Wednesday.
At a meeting with members of the Russian cabinet, the head of the Kremlin recalled that last Sunday he reacted against the Coronavirus with the Russian Drug Russian drug Sputnik Light.
The next day, Putin said, the nasal form of the vaccine was administered, which at the moment is in the testing phase.
The Russian president had previously expressed his desire to participate in the trials of nasal drug, on whose development Russia informed last summer.
"I sat about fifteen minutes (after receiving the vaccine) and now I did not feel anything, absolutely nothing," said Russian leader.
Putin was vaccinated in February against Coronavirus, but only revealed in June that the Sputnik V vaccine had been inoculated, which is authorized in 71 countries so far and has an effectiveness of 97.6%, although it is not yet approved by the World Organization of health (WHO) nor by the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
The head of the Kremlin today insisted on the need for vaccination and revaccination against Coronavirus, while it was against the obligation of the procedure and emphasized the importance of awareness campaigns.
