WhatsApp continues to work on the introduction of a Google Drive backup system with limited storage, compared to the current on Android that is unlimited, and has included code on its app that refers to change.
The Wabetainfo specialized portal has discovered a few lines of code in whatsapp that for the first time mention "changes in the Google Drive backup copies".
Since 2018, Google Drive offers WhatsApp users on Android unlimited storage. This measure is currently maintained despite the fact that last year these storage plans cut their free limit up to 15GB by personal account, including Google Photos, previously unlimited.
