After moving out of the parental home: Leni Klum makes Heidi proud

When the children fledge, it is often not easy for the parents. Supermodel Heidi Klum is no different. Daughter Leni moved from Los Angeles to New York to study. A step that makes Mama Heidi "sad", but also impresses.

Heidi Klum raves about her daughter Leni. At the 36th Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in Los Angeles, the 49-year-old told People magazine that she was proud of 18-year-old Leni, who is currently studying interior design at college while pursuing her modeling career. "I'm very proud of my daughter and her modeling," said Klum. "And she's studying on the side, she's already juggling."

Last August, Heidi Klum had already told about her eldest daughter's departure. The young model had gone from Los Angeles to New York to study there. "It's crazy, today was her first day in college," Heidi Klum said on James Corden's "Late Late Show" at the time. The fact that mother and daughter now live in different cities is "sad". "First they have a car and drive, and that's hard. Then they move across the country, and that's even harder," added Klum.

Leni Klum is the daughter of Heidi Klum and former sports manager Flavio Briatore. She was adopted by Seal, her mother's future husband. Together with the singer, Heidi Klum had three more children: Henry, Johan and Lou. In 2012, the couple announced their separation. The 49-year-old is now married to the Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz.
