After the death of Baby Zen: Nick Cannon became a father again

At the end of 2021, Nick Cannon will have to cope with the sudden death of his five-month-old son. Now the US comedian has another reason to be happy: baby number eight was born well. But there shouldn't be any more offspring.

At the beginning of December, Nick Cannon had to live through the worst nightmare a parent can have: the youngest offspring of the US comedian and one of his friends, Alyssa Scott, died at just five months of complications from a brain tumor. But now the 41-year-old has welcomed his eighth child into the world. This was announced by his partner Bre Tiesi with a series of pictures on Instagram that documented the home birth in detail.

Among other things, one of the photos shows Cannon cutting his youngest son's umbilical cord while holding his exhausted girlfriend in his arms. In other pictures, the couple is lying in the bathtub together. "I did it, a natural home birth without medication," Tiesi wrote on her post. "This experience changed me forever and I couldn't imagine a better and more caring partner. (...) I couldn't have done it without you," she thanks Cannon.

The model also captured the birth in a YouTube video. In the 11-minute clip, she shows the preparations with Cannon and her doula - and also reveals the newborn's name. When the new dad tries to get his son to look at him, he calls him Legendary. A neon sign above the changing table also reads "Legendary Love".

While it is Tiesi's first child, Cannon already has seven more: he has twins Moroccan and Monroe (11) with pop star Mariah Carey. Dancer Brittany Bell gave birth to two more children, son Golden (5) and daughter Powerful (1). In June 2021, DJ Abby De La Rosa (31) also gave him the twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir (1). De La Rosa is currently pregnant again, but so far she has not revealed who the father is.

Cannon's seventh child by Alyssa Scott, son Zen, died last December at just five months old. The comedian shared the sad news himself on his show "The Nick Cannon Show". A fatal brain tumor was discovered in the boy shortly after birth. "After a while we found out something was wrong with him. It was a tumor in his head," Cannon said.

With his eighth child, the 41-year-old's desire to have children seems to have been sufficiently satisfied. Cannon revealed in May as a virtual guest on the show "Daily Pop" that he is considering sterilization. "I've already been to the vasectomy consultation," he said. "I don't want to populate the entire world," he joked. It also allows him to give his existing children the love and attention they deserve. The actor also revealed that he didn't exactly plan on becoming a father to so many children. But he never regretted it: It was a "gift" and a "blessing", according to Mariah Carey's ex-husband. "I find comfort and peace in my children, and I find purpose in life."
