After a 24-year old man fell while hiking, they were alerted. His leg was bleeding from a hemorhagic injury. It was his friends who first stopped the bleeding. One of his friends passed the alert by going to a lodge due to the lack of a telephone network at the scene. The two soldiers and an emergency doctor rescued him from the helicopter of Digne-les-Bains's air section.
