A 12-year-old boy was killed by a mountain bike in Saint-Jean-Montclar on Tuesday, July 5. The rescuers from the Jausiers high mountain gendarmerie platoon PGHM (Jausiers) and the doctor of departmental fire and rescue (Sdis 04) took care of him.
The young teenager suffered from a head injury and was treated immediately. He was then evacuated by helicopter of the Digne-les-Bains Gendarmerie to a hospital not yet identified.
Choucas 04 was mobilized earlier in the day for another mountain bike accident. A 25-year-old mountain biking enthusiast also fell in Seyne-les-Alpes. He was injured in the knee and was treated immediately before being flown to the Digne-les-Bains medical center.
