Prince Charles and Prince William will apparently honor their head of family, Queen Elizabeth II, in a special way. They are scheduled to speak at the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Grand Concert this Saturday (4 June). This is reported by "People" magazine. The two future kings will probably look back on the past 70 years that the Queen has been on the throne.
The concert will take place at Buckingham Palace. A number of music superstars will perform alongside William and Charles. Diana Ross, the band Queen with Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys and Duran Duran, among others, are to take the BBC stage.
But not only musicians can be seen at the mega event. Naturalist Sir David Attenborough, ex-soccer player David Beckham, tennis star Emma Raducanu and many other celebrities have guest appearances. Theater professionals Andrew Lloyd Webber and Lin-Manuel Miranda will also be there for Queen Elizabeth II musical fans. A recorded special performance by Sir Elton John will also be broadcast. 22,000 spectators are expected to attend the event.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations have been underway since Thursday (2 June) and will continue through Sunday. The monarch herself appeared on the balcony of Buckingham Palace after the "Trooping the Color" military parade. However, she missed the anniversary service in St. Paul's Cathedral and the subsequent reception in London's Guildhall on Friday.
As several British media reports, Duchess Kate is said to have told a guest at the reception how the Queen experienced the first day of the celebrations. "She was fine, it was just very exhausting yesterday, but she had a really good time," the Duchess is quoted as saying by the Daily Mail, among other things.
