As a beneficiary, HSV can post an additional payment of millions

An unexpected rain of money for the second division soccer team Hamburger SV is approaching. The English Premier League club West Ham United have increased their offer for the Belgian midfielder Amadou Onana from the French ex-champion OSC Lille to 38 million euros, according to the French sports daily "L'Équipe". French media reported on Wednesday that the transfer was perfect. Lille have accepted a transfer fee of 35 million euros plus five million euros in bonus payments.

The Hamburg can get 20 percent of the difference to the proceeds at that time. According to the current status, that would be 5.6 million euros. If the bonus payments are included, HSV could collect another million. The Hanseatic League sold the 20-year-old Belgian to Lille for around seven million euros last summer and secured a stake in the resale.

Onana was recently absent from OSC Lille training due to problems with her patella tendon. Therefore, it was speculated that the transfer could be imminent. As always, HSV can use the money well, in particular the upcoming renovation of the stadium should lead to an increase in the debt burden. At the same time, coach Tim Walter is asking for reinforcements after his team didn't prove to be sufficiently effective at the start of the season and in the DFB Cup.

In the current team it looks like this before the home game against Heidenheim on Saturday: The offensive power Bakery Jatta continues to train individually after suffering a muscle bundle tear in May. On Wednesday, the 24-year-old winger worked on his passing game with rehab coach Sebastian Capel. Jatta still has to wait for his comeback in the team. Midfielder Anssi Suhonen also trained individually after breaking his fibula. Defensive player Elijah Krahn is back in team training after recovering from a torn syndesmosis ligament.
