BRIDGETON -- Authorities identified the inmate who killed herself at Cumberland County Jail Monday as a Millville woman.
The suicide occurred Monday night at Cumberland County Jail -- the fifth reported suicide for the institution since 2014. The woman has been identified as Megan Moore, according to Kim Wood, deputy administrator for the county.
Additional information about the incident has not been released.
According to Millville Police Department, she was arrested on Feb. 18 for outstanding warrants.
This is the first incident of suicide since Warden Richard Smith was sworn in in January. He replaced longtime warden Bob Balicki.
Jon Watson, 43, of Bridgeton was found hanging in his jail cell on June 3 after being arrested for eluding police, resisting arrest and driving while suspended.
Robert Lewis was arrested on Oct. 26, 2015, for robbery and was found hanging in the showers at the jail a few days later.
Alissa Allen, 24, of Millville, was arrested on March 22, 2015, after a traffic stop for an outstanding warrant, drug possession and not wearing a seatbelt. She was held in jail in lieu of $728 bail and was found the next morning hanging in her cell.
David Hennis, 31, of Vineland, was arrested on July 22, 2014, for violating a court order, aggravated assault and weapons charges. He was taken to the jail infirmary after banging his head against his cell door and then later found hanging in the infirmary holding cell.
