Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Footballer Daniel Didavi was officially adopted by Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart on Sunday. The 32-year-old is a native of the Swabians, went through several of their youth teams and, with the exception of two short breaks at 1. FC Nürnberg and VfL Wolfsburg, was also active for the Stuttgart team for a number of years as a professional.

Before the Bundesliga match against RB Leipzig kicked off, Didavi thanked the club for their time and the support of the fans. He has played 184 Bundesliga games so far, 113 of them for Stuttgart. Injuries have also set him back time and again in his career. Didavi's contract with VfB expired at the end of last season. The offensive man is currently without a club.
