Baden-Württemberg: 38 objects searched during raids against Reich citizens

Stuttgart/Karlsruhe (dpa/lsw) - In one of the largest raids against a suspected terrorist organization in recent years, a total of 38 properties were searched in Baden-Württemberg for dpa information. In addition, according to the federal prosecutor, numerous people were arrested nationwide during the action on early Wednesday, including in the southwest. Baden-Württemberg was a focus of the searches against suspected Reich citizens, said a spokeswoman for the federal prosecutor's office in Karlsruhe.

A total of 25 men and women were arrested in Germany. More than 130 properties were searched nationwide. In Baden-Württemberg there were searches in around 15 urban and rural districts, so far little is known about the locations.

Reich citizens are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic and its democratic structures. They often refuse to pay taxes. Often they are in conflict with authorities. The Office for the Protection of the Constitution ascribes around 3,800 supporters to the Baden-Württemberg scene.
