Baden-Württemberg: 40th New Year's Eve run: Comeback on a shortened route

Bietigheim-Bissingen (dpa/lsw) - After a two-year break due to the corona pandemic, the Bietigheim New Year's Eve Run is celebrating its comeback on Saturday. The route had to be changed at short notice due to construction work, as the organizers announced. Instead of over 11.1, the race on December 31 (2:00 p.m.) is now only over 10.75 kilometers.

By Boxing Day, 1909 individual starters and 15 teams had already registered. German 10,000m champion Alina Reh leads the women's field at the 40th edition of the event. The 25-year-old from SSC Berlin has already won four times in Bietigheim. Among the men, the four-time winner Simon Boch from LG Telis Finanz Regensburg will start.
