Gomadingen (dpa/lsw) - A horse ballet for the last time for the time being: In the main and state stud Marbach in Gomadingen (Reutlingen district) on Saturday (4 p.m.) before a longer break, numerous horses and riders will come again in front of spectators to the "Marbach Classic" together.

The horses will dance to the sounds of the Württemberg Philharmonic Reutlingen, as announced by the state stud. The Philharmonic will be conducted by Fawzi Haimor. As a recurring element, there should also be the free-running "silver herd" for the last time.

The traditional main and state stud Marbach is currently reinventing itself. The horse paradise, first mentioned in a document in 1514, will be renovated from next year, which is why the horse ballet, the "Marbach Classics", will be discontinued for the time being.

A new, significantly larger indoor riding arena should be in place by 2027 and the arena should also be renovated. After that there should be no going back to the "Marbach Classics" in their old form. The format should therefore be further developed and receive "national radiance".

The main and state stud was built between 1552 and 1554 by Duke Christoph von Württemberg. The state farm also includes stud farms in Gomadingen-Offenhausen and St. Johann (both in the Reutlingen district).
