Schwieberdingen (dpa/lsw) - Four people were injured in an accident involving several cars on a country road in the Ludwigsburg district, including an infant and an eight-year-old child. A 24-year-old had to abandon an overtaking attempt due to oncoming traffic on the L1141 between Schwieberdingen and Markgröningen. He pulled his car to the right and pushed the vehicle of a 44-year-old into the guardrail. From there, the 44-year-old's car was thrown into oncoming traffic and then collided with two other cars.

The 44-year-old was slightly injured and an eight-year-old child in his car was seriously injured. In another of the vehicles involved in the accident, a woman and an infant were slightly injured. The 24-year-old who caused the accident and his passenger were uninjured. According to the police, the scene of the accident stretched over 150 meters. The road was completely closed for about five hours for the rescue and cleaning work.
