Baden-Württemberg: acid attack on woman at front door

Durmersheim (dpa / lsw) - A woman fell victim to an acid attack in Durmersheim (Rastatt district). An unknown man poured a caustic liquid, possibly butyric acid, in her face, the police said on Saturday. The victim was seriously injured. The man rang the doorbell on Friday evening. He pretended to be a parcel carrier. After the crime, he fled undetected. "Whether the background to the physical attack can be found in the personal environment or whether it is an isolated case is currently the subject of the criminal investigation." Further details were not initially known.
