Forbach (dpa / lsw) - René Engels has an unusual hobby: he collects garbage. The 28-year-old from Bühlertal (Rastatt district) wants to take a stand against littering in the Black Forest. Because this is increasingly becoming a problem - also because of Corona. The pandemic has drawn more people into nature. They often just throw everything into the forest - from cigarette butts to paper handkerchiefs to coffee mugs.
"I wish that everyone would take their rubbish with them," says Engels. Cleaning up rubbish is definitely trendy: in September last year, tens of thousands of volunteers collected rubbish along the Rhine and other rivers throughout Europe during the "Rhine Clean Up".
