Lauda-Königshofen (dpa/lsw) - A very drunk man drove his car into a ditch, then damaged the car of a helper and later attacked and injured four police officers. The officials were temporarily no longer able to work, the police reported on Sunday after the attack the previous evening. According to the information, the 28-year-old had left the road in Lauda-Königshofen (Main-Tauber district) and then landed in the ditch.
A 24-year-old stopped and offered to help. However, the 30-year-old hit the helper's car and fled on foot into a rape field. When two patrols stopped him there, the man freaked out and attacked the three police officers and one policewoman, it was said. A first alcohol test on the man showed 3.5 per mille. His driver's license was confiscated for the time being, and several criminal charges awaited him.
