Tübingen (dpa / lsw) - Because he is said to have stabbed his brother-in-law, a man who was 19 at the time of the crime must answer to the district court of Tübingen from today. The public prosecutor's office in Tübingen has accused the Syrian of murder.

The young man is said to have visited his sister in Mössingen (Tübingen district) for several weeks in November 2021. Her 37-year-old husband is said to have repeatedly stayed with her despite the separation. As the accused sat next to him on a sofa, he is said to have pulled out a knife and stabbed his brother-in-law in the heart area. The victim died a short time later. The alleged perpetrator fled and turned himself in to the police the next day.

The public prosecutor's office evaluates the act as insidious murder. Depending on the decision as to whether juvenile criminal law or adult criminal law is to be applied, the accused faces a juvenile sentence of up to ten years or life imprisonment if convicted.
